Trinket Case - Tūī

The striking Tūī is a boisterous bird, and can often be heard singing their beautiful melodies before they are spotted. You will recognise them by their distinctive white tuft under their throat. Did you know that Early European colonists called Tūī the parson bird or mockingbird; however, these names are no longer used. Tūī have a complex variety of songs and calls, much like parrots. They are definitely a pleasure to see and hear.
